Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pub Radar ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at pubradar.co.uk. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in a transparent way.
1. Who We Are
Pub Radar is a free UK pub-finding tool that helps you locate nearby pubs using your device location or a postcode search. The service is operated by Elevation Studio.
2. What Data We Collect
2a. Location Data
If you grant permission, Pub Radar uses your device's GPS or network location to find pubs near you. This location data is:
- Used only to perform a one-time search for nearby pubs
- Sent to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to retrieve pub data
- Never stored on our servers
- Never sold or shared with third parties for marketing
- Discarded immediately after results are returned
You can decline location access at any time and use postcode search instead. If you have previously granted access, you can withdraw consent via the About section in the app.
2b. Search Queries
If you search by postcode or place name, that search term is sent to the Nominatim geocoding service (operated by OpenStreetMap) to look up coordinates. Search terms are not stored by us.
2c. Cookies & Advertising
Pub Radar displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
Google AdSense may use the following cookies:
- DoubleClick cookie — used to serve interest-based advertisements
- Conversion tracking cookies — used to measure ad performance
- Third-party cookies — set by Google's advertising partners
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
For more information on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
2d. Analytics
Pub Radar uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- General geographic region (derived from IP address — the full IP is never stored)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- How you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link)
Google Analytics 4 does not collect your name, email address, or any directly identifiable personal information. IP addresses are anonymised by default and not stored by Google.
GA4 uses first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_L13BSY1C5W) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies persist for up to 2 years.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Log Data
Like most websites, our web server may automatically collect standard log data including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used solely for security and diagnostic purposes and is not linked to any personal profile.
